MEET OUR COACHES
Vadim Chernyakhovsky
Men's Head Coach at Kingsborough Community College
A native of Ukraine, Chernyakhovsky was a goalkeeper in the prestigious youth professional academy of FC Dynamo Kiev. At 16 years old, he had two offers from both FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk and SKA Kiev, 2nd division sides at the time, as a reserve team goalkeeper, but declined both to stay in the FC Dynamo Kiev academy. In 1978, he was selected to the under-18 Soviet Union National Team pool.
Chernyakhovsky then left Europe and moved to Pittsburgh in 1980. In 1981 Dynamo Soccer Club was formed. (Now known as Pittsburgh Dynamo Soccer Club, it continues to operate out of Pittsburgh to this day, instilling Chernyakhovsky's coaching philosophies.) After spending five years in the Steel City, Chernyakhovsky moved to Brooklyn. He received his USSF National-A coaching license and was the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League Select Boys under-13 coach.
In 1999, he founded Dynamo Soccer Club for youth and adults in Sheepshead Bay, New York which he still operates. Along with the Club, Chernyakhovsky has coached at the Empire State Games for the women’s scholastic under-17 team for the past four years. Chernyakhovsky also maintains his international roots by coaching the Super Club National Team. Players from around the United States gather in Kansas City, Missouri before departing to play in England in August. Chernyakhovsky has coached all age groups of the Super Club National Team from under-14 through under-18.
In 2011, he was hired by St. Joseph's College to create a Men's and Women's soccer program. Within a year, the Women's team had won the HVIAC conference and the Men's team clinched their first playoff berth in 2014. In 2016 Chernyakhovsky moved on to Kingsborough Community College, where he currently holds the Men's Head Coaching position.

In the summers of 2009-2012, Pam was also selected to take part in the SuperY League for the New York Magic and from there, secured a spot on their first team which participated in the semi-professional National Women’s Soccer League (the highest competitive women’s league at the time) until 2016. Following her summer with the SuperY program, Pam was chosen for the New York State ODP team to represent the state in regional competition.
